Goodbye House, Part 2

While we were busy saying goodbye to my childhood home, Tabitha had fun exploring some of my old haunts, like the kitchen...

The dining room...

The family room...

(adorable dress made by Cousin Leslie)

The two stairs between the dining room and the family room...

And the front porch...

Goodbye House

On Dorset Avenue
There was a gray house
With a secret staircase

And a clown
with a sad face

And there were four panes of stained glass

And a backyard full of grass

And two little chairs

And swirls on the stairs

And a mantel between windows
And a place to warm toes

And two beds in the attic
where guests could doze

And African violets
by the back door

All over the house
There was wood galore

Goodbye family room

Goodbye tiger in my bedroom

Goodbye dog in the dining room

Goodbye hoop

Goodbye jellybean

Goodbye 4816

Kicking Back

We spent last evening on a grassy hillside, watching cousin Jack's soccer game (they won!), smiling with Carter, and cuddling with Aunt Tracey and Grandma Karla.

Tabitha can sit up on her own.

But she's still working on her balance.

Cousin Carter loves smiling at her.

Cousin Jack gives a wave before the game starts.

There he is, to the right of the goalie.

With Uncle Glenn and Carter looking on.

Now it's Aunt Tracey's turn.

Of course, there was lots of drool.

Hi Grandma.

She stands on Grandma's lap.

Earlier in the day, we remembered Grandpa Ron.

Who left us a year ago.

But is still with us.
